Spring has sprung, but hopefully your pipes haven’t! As pipes and faucets make the transition from winter to spring, it’s important to make sure they’re in top condition for the changing weather. Wish you had some Spring plumbing tips? Below are a few tips on keeping your homes’ plumbing up to snuff for the ups and downs of spring weather:

 

  1. Check faucets, toilet tanks, and toilet bowls for leaks, cracks, or drips. Making sure those three sources of water are in top condition will be a good indicator of healthy pipes.
  2. Make sure your drains have strainers! Making sure that all shower, bathtub, and sink drains have strainers will assure that soap, hair, and debris build up doesn’t end up clogging your drain lines.
  3. Make sure toilets are flushing properly! Do you need to jiggle the handle to make sure your toilet doesn’t keep running water? You should invest in replacing worn tank parts; it will lower your water bill and save your money!
  4. Replace a water heater that is more than 15 years old. Newer water heaters are more energy efficient and will save you money. If you look at the first our numbers of your water heaters’ serial number, you will know how old it is.
